Corn Rice


Corn rice is one of the typical dishes of Madura, East Java, Indonesia. It consists of rice and white rice mixed with corn kernels have been cooked that along with the rice. Corn rice eaten with plain white rice with other side dishes.

Ingredients :
  • 1.5 cups rice, washed thoroughly
  • 1.5 cups sweetcorn kernels, cut from raw corn cobs, or tinned sweetcorn

How To Make :
  • Put the rice and raw sweetcorn in a pot with 3 cups of water and bring to the boil. If using tinned sweetcorn, do not add at this stage.
  • Simmer rice and corn until water is absorbed. If using tinned sweetcorn, add now.
  • Reduce heat to low and cook rice and corn for a further 10 minutes until rice is dry and fluffy. Serve immediately.
