There's another original Indonesian salad that uses peanut sauce that was tasty and delicious stew mixed with fresh vegetables. "Gado-gado" (in Indonesian or Betawi), also called "Lotek" (in the Sundanese language). Gado-gado is one food that originated from Indonesia in the form of boiled vegetables and mixed together, with herbs or a sauce of crushed peanuts with sliced egg and fried onions sprinkled on top. Little fried chips or crackers (some are taking prawn crackers) was also added. Gado-gado can eat just like a salad with herbs / peanut sauce, but also can be eaten with white rice or sometimes also served with rice cake.
Ingredients :
- 50 grams of bean sprouts, discarding the root, brewed with boiling water, drained
- 150 grams of spinach, cut, boiled, drained
- 150 grams of spinach, leaves picked, boiled, drained
- 200 grams of melon, seeded, trimmed
- 1 fruit squash, boiled
- 1 piece out, fried
- 1 piece of tempeh, fried
- 1-2 tablespoons fried onions
- 3 eggs, boiled, peeled
- chips and crackers
- 200 grams of peanuts, fried
- 2 red chilies
- 5 pieces of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ tsp shrimp paste
- 200 cc of boiled water
- Sauce: all sauce ingredients except the water boiled, blended and smooth diulek. Once refined, the new insert boiled water.
- Stir well and cook, stirring until boiling, remove from heat.
- Mix the sauce, vegetables, tofu and tempeh, stir well
- Serve in a bowl, add egg pieces, sprinkle fried onions and squeeze of crackers or chips on it.
